On August 26, 2019 at approximately 2:13pm, the St. Anthony Police Department responded to a report of a bank robbery that had just occurred at the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 2700 39th Avenue in St. Anthony. It was a reported that a male suspect had entered the bank, implied he had a gun, and demanded cash. The suspect exited the bank with an undetermined amount of cash, after which time a bank employee called 911. No gun was ever seen. Officers from the St. Anthony Police Department, along with neighboring agencies set up a perimeter in the area, conducted a search, but the suspect was not located. The St. Anthony Police Department, along with the Hennepin County Crime Lab, and the FBI continue to investigate.
